Contemporary Style

The rapid introduction of Modern styling in the mid 20th century led to an ongoing thirst for change in our homes, our automobiles, planes, buildings and just about everything else that conveyed style. Hence, the term "Contemporary" style, which is not defined by any time period, but rather reflects our current tastes and is constantly changing with time. Some clear distinctions between contemporary and modern do exist however. Contemporary furnishings are normally uncluttered, containing clean, straight lines and employing contemporary materials such as chrome, steel and nickel to name a few.
